AYUSH formed a Committee to promote Holistic Health
Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare, Department of AYUSH, (Gazette No. Z-28015/124/2014-P&C, Dated:25-08-2014) in order to optimize the utilization of available manpower in
the Health sector, the government would like to explore the possibility of
promoting the concept of Holistic Health in the country.
For this purpose, it
has been decided that a committee with the following members be Constituted- Dr.H.R.Nagendra – Chairman, Principal Director, Arogyadhama, S-Vyasa, Bengaluru
- Dr.G.N.Qazi – Member, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi
- Vaidya.R.H.Singh – Member, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi
- Dr.K.Muraleedharan – Member, Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakal, Kerala
- Vaidya.G.G.Gangadharan – Member, Ayurveda Hospital, Bangalore
- Mrs.Shailaja Chandra – Member, Former Secretary (AYUSH),
- Dr.Isaac Mathai – Member, Medical Director, Whitefield, Bangalore
- Dr.Kishore Kumar – Member, Ayurvedic Centre, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
- Dr.Santanu Bhattacharjee – Member, Bengal Rural Welfare Service, Kolkatta
- Prof.Ranjit Roy Chaudhary – Member, Adviser, MOHFW, New Delhi
- Dr.R.S.Ramaswamy – Member, National Institute of Siddha, Chennai
- Shri Raj Pratap Singh - Member-Secretary, Joint secretary, Department of AYUSH.
The committee would
review the current status of the traditional systems of medicine and plan a
Holistic Health Programme taking help of all systems of medicine and suggest
appropriate training/orientation courses and any other items which may be
considered essential for promotion of holistic health.
The committee is
required to submit its report within nine (9) weeks of its constitution.
The chairman of the
committee would have the authority to invite any other expert as deemed appropriate by him.
Department of AYUSH
will provide the necessary logistic support for the committee.
