BHMS Admission in NIH Kolkata, 2017 - 18 Notification
Applications are
invited according to the format
given below from
intending candidates of Indian nationality for
Admission to 5½
yrs, BHMS Degree Course in Homoeopathy (including one
year compulsory Rotatory Internship) at National
Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, affiliated
to The West
Bengal University of Health Sciences
for the academic
year 2017 - 2018. Form can be downloaded from the Institute website. Photocopy
of the downloaded form will be accepted.
Eligibility: As prescribed for National
Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) session 2017 - 18 conducted by Central Board
of Secondary Education on 07-05-2017 (Sunday) for UG. The
candidate must have qualified
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test
(UG) session 2017 – 18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on 07-05-2017
(Sunday).
Age: As prescribed
for National Eligibility
cum Entrance Test
(UG) session 2017 - 18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary
Education on 07-05-2017 (Sunday).
Selection: The candidate must have
qualified National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) session 2017 - 18
conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education on 07-05-2017 (Sunday). In
this academic year 93 seats shall be available for admission to the BHMS Degree
Course; out of this following seats are earmarked for different categories of
candidates.
(i) Fourteen (14)
seats are earmarked for the
candidates nominated from
the following States/Union Territories
: Jammu and
Kashmir (1), Manipur
(1), Meghalaya (2),
Mizoram (2), Nagaland (2),
Sikkim (1), Tripura
(2), Andaman and
Nicobar Island (1),
Dadra and Nagar Haveli
(1) and Daman and Diu
(1). Number of seats earmarked for States/Union Territories may vary as
per the Govt. of India orders prevalent at the time of admission.
(ii) Six (06)
seats are earmarked for
Foreign Nationals out of which
Five (05) seats
are earmarked for candidates from
Bay of Bengal
Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical
& Economic Co-operation (BIMSTEC)
countries to be nominated by
Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of
External Affairs, Azad Bhavan, Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi
and One (01)
seat is reserved
for Foreign National
candidates under self-financing scheme nominated by the
Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.
(iii) Ten (10) seats are earmarked for candidates sponsored by
Govt. of Sri Lanka through the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt.of India.
If the requisite number of candidates are not sponsored by Govt. of Sri
Lanka, those seats shall remain vacant; no other candidate will be admitted
against these seats.
(iv) The remaining 63 seats will
be filled up through
National Eligibility cum
Entrance Test (UG) session
2017 - 18 conducted by
Central Board of
Secondary Education on 07-05-2017
(Sunday).
(v) Distribution of seats to
various categories may be modified by competent authority.
(vi) Reservation as per the
Govt. of India norms shall be applicable.
Last date of submission of
application form: 12-07-2017 (Wednesday) up to 5.00PM.
Physical Fitness: He/she is
not blind (including
colour blind), deaf
and/or dumb (as
per the syllabus
and curriculum to the
course prescribed by
Central Council of
Homoeopathy and the
West Bengal University of
Health Sciences). Orthopedically challenged persons with 50 to
70% locomotor disability involving the lower limbs only, can apply for the
course.
Application Fees/Application
Processing Fees: Filled
in application form (in candidate’s own handwriting) is to be sent along with
Demand draft of Rs.1000/-(Rupees One Thousand only) in favour of “Director,
National Institute of Homoeopathy”, payable at Kolkata (IPO/Cheque/Cash/Money order
will not be accepted). Demand draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank. Application
fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates
belonging to SC/ST categories, Demand Draft is not required but a photo copy of
self attested caste certificate in prescribed proforma must accompany the
application form.
Candidates claiming
reservation under OBC
category and Orthopedically challenged
category are required to enclose self - attested photocopy of OBC
certificate and Orthopedically challenged certificate issued by competent
authority in prescribed proforma as that of NEET 2017 - 18. Candidates are
required to enclose two recent, high contrast 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm identical copies
of colour photograph, clearly showing full head, face, shoulders and both ears
without wearing any cap/hat/glasses, with the application form. Both the
photographs should be signed on the reverse by the candidate. Polaroid photo is
not acceptable. Photograph must have been taken on or after 1st May, 2017
with a
placard indicating the
name of the
candidate and the
date of taking the photograph.
The name and date of the photograph must be clear and legible.
Last Date For Submission Of
Application Form:
1. The duly filled in
application form should reach the Office of

Institute of Homoeopathy,

Lake, Kolkata - 700106
on or before the last date
of submission of
application form i.e. 12/07/2017
(Wednesday) up to 5.00PM. Any application form receipt after
this date and time will be summararily rejected.
2. Application form should be
submitted in a sealed envelope super scribing “Application form for Admission
to BHMS Degree Course, Session 2017 – 18. Last date
of submission 12-07-2017
(Wednesday) up to 5.00PM” Two self addressed (six digit pin code compulsory)
envelop of size 30cm × 20cm and 25cm × 12cm is to be send along with the
application form. DOCUMENTS TO BE ENCLOSED ALONG WITH APPLICATION FORM
Photocopy of the following documents (self attested) are required to be
enclosed along with the application form while submitting.
Application without the
following documents will be rejected.

page of online application form of NEET 2017 - 18
ii) Admit card of NEET 2017 - 18
iii) Downloaded copy of NEET
2017 - 18 result sheet from the website www.cbscresults.nic.in
iv) AADHAR Card
v) Demand Draft
vi) Caste Certificate in
prescribed proforma as prescribed by NEET 2017 - 18.
vii) Certificate of locomotor
disability as prescribed by NEET 2017 - 18.
1. Date of Counseling (and of
Admission) – Date of counseling & subsequent admission will be notified in the
Institute website www.nih.nic.in after getting necessary permission from
Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India.
2. The List of provisionally
eligible candidates (as per their NEET 2017 - 18 All India Rank) for
admission to the
BHMS course, Session
2017 - 18, will be available
in the Institute
website. The exact date
of declaration of
list of eligible
candidates will be available
in the Institute website i.e. www.nih.nic.in
for counseling/admission.
3. Institute will
not send any kind of call letter
to individual candidates
by post or
through e-mail. Therefore, candidates are required to check Institute
website regularly to get latest information.
At present
hostel facilities are
not available. On
successful counseling and subsequent admission,
students have to
make their own
arrangement for their
boarding and lodging during the
duration of the course at their own cost and convenience.
NOTE: Admission to BHMS Course
Session 2017 - 18 shall be made only after receiving necessary permission from
Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India
