    List of Ayush Universities in India

    There are nine universities in the country based on Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) system of medicines. The information was provided by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, Shripad Yesso Naik in written reply to a question that was raised in the Rajya Sabha on August 9, 2016.
    The name of the AYUSH universities are as follows:

    1. Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurveda University Jodhpur, Rajasthan (State University).
    2. Gujarat Ayurved University, Dhanwantari Mandir, Jamnagar, Gujarat (State University).
    3. Uttarakhand Ayurveda Vishvavidyalaya, Harrawala, Dehradun, Uttarakhand (State University).
    4. Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Jodhamal Road, Hoshiarpur, Punjab (State University).
    5. AYUSH and Health Sciences University of Chhatisgarh, Raipur, Chhattisgarh (State University).
    6. Homoeopathy University, Saipura, Sanganer, Jaipur, Rajasthan (private University).
    7. S-VYASA University, Bangalore, Karnataka (Deemed University).
    8. Lakulish Yoga University, S.G. Highway, Chharodi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat (Private University).
    9. Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, Uttarakhand (Private University)

    MoS AYUSH Naik also informed the members of the Rajya Sabha about the initiatives taken by the government of India to promote education on AYUSH system by approving the regulations for the colleges and notified by the Central Council of Indian Medicine and Central Council of Homoeopathy including the Establishment of New Medical College, Opening of New or Higher Course of Study or Training and Increase of Admission Capacity by a Medical College Regulations, 2003 read with amendment Regulations of 2013, the Indian Medicine Central Council (Post-graduate Diploma Course in Siddha) Regulations, 2015 and the Indian Medicine Central Council (Post-graduate Diploma Course in Unani Medicine) Amendment Regulations, 2015.

    In addition to the regulations the government of India is also establishing institutes of higher education to promote AYUSH system of medicine including the All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi which is in final stage of completion.
