Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the educational qualification prescribed for the post of Food Safety Officer. The notification specifies eligible qualifications in areas including Food Technology, Food Engineering, Food Processing and Preservation, Food Technology and Management, Food Biotechnology, Food Safety and Quality Management, Process and Food Engineering, and other specified disciplines.
The notification also provides eligibility through specified agricultural qualifications, including Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, Dairy Technology, Fisheries, Food Technology, Food and Nutrition, Horticulture and related disciplines.
Certain recognised medical qualifications, including specified MBBS / BAMS / BHMS / BUMS / BSRMS
Age Limit
The minimum age prescribed is 21 years as on 01 August 2026. The maximum age limit varies according to the category:
- Unreserved: 37 years
- Unreserved Women: 40 years
- Backward Class / Extremely Backward Class: 40 years
- Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe: 42 years
Age relaxation and other applicable concessions will be provided according to the rules and provisions specified in the recruitment notification.
Selection Process
Selection will be made on the basis of a written competitive examination. The examination will be conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT).

- Negative Marking: 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer
