Introducing Super Specialty D.M. Courses in Homoeopathy – 2025 Draft Regulations

The National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) has released a landmark draft regulation introducing Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.) in Homoeopathy courses, aimed at creating highly skilled super-specialists in the Homoeopathic system.

Key Highlights:

Objective: To produce competent specialists with advanced clinical, research, teaching, and leadership skills in specific medical domains within Homoeopathy.

Specializations Offered:

• D.M. (Hom) Medical Oncology
• D.M. (Hom) Clinical Rheumatology
• D.M. (Hom) Pediatric Psychiatry
• D.M. (Hom) Pulmonary Medicine
• D.M. (Hom) Clinical Immunology
• D.M. (Hom) Endocrinology

Course Duration: 3 years full-time residency, extendable up to 6 years if required.

Eligibility Criteria:

• MD (Homoeopathy) in specified subjects.
• Research publications and experience in the relevant specialty.
• Must qualify the All India Homoeopathy Superspecialty Entrance Test.
• Registered with the State Board / Council or NCH.

Training Focus:

• Hands-on clinical training, interdisciplinary case studies, and advanced homoeopathic management.
• Research methodology, clinical audits, and dissertation submission.
• Minimum 80% attendance and teaching assistantship are mandatory.

Assessment Pattern:

• Three-part examination system with written, clinical/practical, and viva components.
• Dissertation and publication / presentation are integral parts of evaluation.

Infrastructure & Staffing:

• Institutions must have dedicated super specialty departments, labs, IPD / OPD units, and specific teaching and non-teaching staff as per NCH norms.
• Digital infrastructure, biometric attendance, and simulation labs are mandatory.
• NABH accreditation and MoUs with research / specialty centers are encouraged.

No Migration Allowed: Transfers between institutions are strictly prohibited.

Launch & Compliance: Institutions seeking to start these courses must apply with requisite fees and meet strict minimum essential standards laid out by the NCH.

Comments / suggestions are invited from the stakeholders under section 23 sub-section(d) of G.S.R 772 (E), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India notification dated 18.12.20, for a period of 30 days with effect from 19.05.2024 to 18.06.2024.
