Homoeopathy Against Covid-19, NFHMCI Requests Government

Hyderabad: National Federation of Homoeopathic Medical Colleges of India (NFHMCI) on Wednesday (25-03-2020) requested the central government to issue directives to the state government to involve the Homoeopathy in the noble mission to control this pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

In a letter addressed to Union Minister of State for AYUSH Mr Shripad Naik, Federation Secretary-General Dr. Arun Bhasme said we will provide preventive treatment as protocol fixed by Ayush Ministry and provide treatment also.

The whole country is now fighting against the coronavirus infection and states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Delhi, Odisha and other states of our country have so far recorded several positive cases and death from coronavirus, he said daily reports from across the country are pouring in it and the situation is getting more and more difficult day-by-day.

Ministry of Ayush had already released an advisory about prevention and treatment of Coronavirus infection, Dr. Bhasme said, as a matter of fact, State governments have not included Homoeopathic system in this mission.

There is a history that Homoeopathic medicine has prevented the earlier pandemic diseases - chicken Gunya, Dengue fever, and plague, and used for treatment also, he claimed and said homoeopathy can play a pivotal role to control this pandemic coronavirus.

Expert members, volunteers of our system would like to join in this mission, the Secretary-General said homoeopathic expertise with ongoing treatment and this combined strategy will certainly hasten the process of recovery of these patients resulting into reduction of the burden on the current healthcare system.

In India, there are more than 200 private Homoeopathic Medical colleges with attached Hospitals, he added.
