    news
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has launched a website for “allied and healthcare professional” with an aim to track and estimate their numbers and streams existing in the country.

The move also aims to prove helpful in expediting the envisaged processes like licensing of professionals, workforce policy planning, and bringing transparency in the system by maintaining standards of educational and clinical practice, etc.

This new website, www.a2hp.mohfw.gov.in, is a provisional measure taken to reach out to all the allied and healthcare professionals in the country so that they may be effectively tracked as part of the overall Human Resource for Health (HRH) data available with the Government of India, it says.

The MoHFW has established the HRH Cell to ensure coordinated and collaborative efforts towards generating a skilled workforce for the country and ensure all relevant human resource related issues are addressed under one umbrella.

Speaking at the launch, Health and Family Welfare Secretary Preeti Sudan said: “This portal is a provisional measure taken by the Ministry to track and reach out to all the allied and healthcare professionals in the country till such a time that a statutory body is established.”

“The Health Ministry aims to put in place a robust data repository of healthcare workers. Unless the existing manpower capacity is mapped adequately, successful policies cannot be framed,” she added.

More than 3,000 professionals are learnt to have already registered on the website. The website has a capacity of capturing more than 10 lakh allied and healthcare professionals’ data.
