No NEET Exam for AYUSH UG admission 2017-18 in certain States

    Ayush neet 2017
Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi, has received representations from certain State Governments expressing their inability to admit student into AYUSH-UG courses for the Academic Year 2017-18 as CBSE has not included the AYUSH-UG courses in its notification.

The matter was examined by the Ministry and after considering representations made by the State Governments, it has been decided that:

    • Since, it is important to ensure that meritorious students/candidates come to AYUSH streams of medicine, it would be advisable to the State/UT Government to adopt the merit list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission in AYUSH UG course for the A.Y. 2017-18 as per the existing reservation policies of the concerned State Government in tune with CBSE notification of NEET for modern medicine.
    • However, if due to some difficulties the State/UT Governments are unable to adopt NEET merit list for AYUSH UG admission for A.Y. 2017-18, then such States/UT Government may admit students in all the AYUSH Colleges/Institutions (Public and Private) through Common Entrance Test (CET) of the concerned State Government as per the existing Rule and Policies of the concerned State/UTInstitute/University as done in the previous year 2016-17
    • Admission in AYUSH UG Courses shall be compulsorily through NEET merit list from the A.Y. 2018-19
