Ramdev likely to establish Yoga and Naturopathy Centre in Tirupati

Hyderabad: Yoga guru Ramdev is likely to establish a Yoga and Naturopathy Centre in the temple town of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said.

Ramdev gave a positive response to set up the facility in Tirupati as part of the Andhra Pradesh Government's plans to establish centres of yoga, meditation and ayurveda in the temple towns, including
Tirupati, Vijayawada and Simhachalam near Visakhapatnam, an official release quoted Srinivas as saying.

Srinivas met the yoga guru in Haridwar, where his main ashram is based, yesterday and discussed the issue. His aide Acharya Balakrishna would visit Tirupati soon in this regard, the release said.

Ramdev would also help the AP Government in setting up an AYUSH University, a herbal medicine park and 'yoga stalls' in the state, Srinivas said.

The university will focus on medicine systems of ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy, unani, siddha and homoeopathy (AYUSH).

The Minister invited the popular yoga guru to the foundation stone laying ceremony of AP's capital city Amaravati, coming up in Vijaywada region, on October 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi would also attend the event.
