    Planning Commission of India requires AYUSH Professionals

    The Health & Family Welfare Division, Planning Commission requires the services of two Young Professionals (YPs) on contract basis

    Precise Statement of Objectives: The Young Professionals are required to provide specific inputs for the planning, implementation, review, monitoring & evaluation of the programs and activities in health sector.

    Outline of the tasks to be carried out: 
    Background analysis:
    a.Conducting detailed review with special analysis for the ongoing Centrally Sponsored Schemes pertaining to D/o Health & Family Welfare Division, D/o NACO, D/o AYUSH & D/o Health Research.
    b.Preparation of background material and notes by providing technical inputs and analysis of data, reports and relevant studies.
    c.Conduct detailed reviews with analysis of evidence on health policy as per strategy outlined in the 12th Plan.
    d.Analysis of Surveys data on health indicators to assess impact of various health schemes.
    e.Prepare note on the performance of States under Flagship Programmes.
    f.Inputs for CCEA/ Cabinet notes/ EFC proposals/ SFC proposals

    Program Planning & Management:
    a.Critical analysis on Health Insurance strategies and providing suggestions for implementation in the public sector.
    b.Process proposals for in-principle approval of Schemes received from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
    c.Participate in meetings in the Planning Commission on behalf of health divisions, and give a health related perspective to issues.
    d.Assist in quarterly review of performance and monitoring of progress of expenditure on on-going schemes.
    e.Assess the release and expenditure of the Ministry & State health departments as reported in Central Plan Scheme Monitoring System (CPSMS).
    f.Prepare State specific analysis, and organize meetings with the State Governments and Ministries.
    g.Periodically review the perform ance of the States and follow-up on decisions of Working Group and Deputy Chairman level meetings and decisions in the Planning Commission.
    h.Site Visits to States for review/analysis of on-going schemes.
    i.Examination of Socio-Economic Research Study proposals. 

    Qualifications and Experience :
    Essential Qualifications:
    (i)Graduate in "health-related discipline" with Post-Graduation in "Public Health/Community Medicine" from a recognized University/Institute.
    (ii)Knowledge of a statistical application such as R, Stata, EpiInfo and office productivity applications like Excel, Power Point, e-mail client.
    [Note: "Health related discipline" includes graduation in Medicine, Ayush, Dentistry or Nursing].

    Desirable Qualifications:
    (i) Persons with Ph.D. or research experience.
    (ii) Candidates with professional experience in planning/execution/evaluation of projects or academic work in the Health sector.
    (iii) Experience in collection, compilation and analysis of data on health.
    (iv) Candidates with a track record of publications in peer reviewed journals.

    Duration: Candidates selected will be appointed on a contract basis for an initial period of one year. This term can be extended up to maximum five years depending on the performance of the candidate/need of the Planning Commission. However, the maximum duration of the contract will not be extended beyond five years.

    Age Limit: The maximum age limit shall be 40 years.

    Fee and Conveyance Fee: The Consolidated fee shall range between Rs.25,000/- to Rs.40,000/- per month depending on qualification & experience.

    Local conveyance: The Young Professionals will be paid an addition amount of Rs.1,500/- per month as local conveyance.


    Selection Process:
    (a) Screening and shortlisting of eligible candidates on the basis of qualification/experience, using a benchmark;
    (b) Written Assessment of shortlisted candidates; and 
    (c) Interview of candidates found eligible in written assessment. The written assessment and interview would be held at Planning Commission. No TA/DA is admissible for the same.

    Interested candidates may send their bio-data in the enclosed format (Annexure I), with two recommendations at least one of which must be from an academic counselor under whom the candidate has studied in Graduation/Post-Graduation/Ph.D. and another from Supervisor under whom candidates had worked/interned, By post so as to reach the Planning Commission by the close of office (5.30 p.m.) within 15 days from the publication of this advertisement in newspaper at the following address:
